People in Education is a media arts organization committed to humanizing schooling by facilitating space for connection, curiosity and reflection. We are a sponsored project of Allied Media Projects.
We bring media artists-in-residence into learning spaces to facilitate student-led investigations, which culminate in collaborative media projects. We offer a yearlong, teacher professional development program called the Rida Institute through which educators gain the skills to nurture authentic youth voice and leadership in their classrooms. Additionally, we work with a team of youth researchers who engage in participatory action research methods to explore our mission of humanizing schooling.
