The Out of School Project aims to cultivate agency, critical consciousness and compassion with young people as we work to humanize schooling.

We work with youth researchers in yearlong fellowships to engage in participatory action research around the questions: How does a dehumanized school system impact students? and How are students resilient and resistant against our dehumanized school system?

Participating youth make media throughout the research process, and share their findings at conferences such as the Allied Media Conference and Free Minds Free People.  You can check out our research at the OSP Tumblr.
